Take Mrs. Ray Home With You
is a YouTube channel I created to enhance the comprehension of my students homework. It was a fun way for students who struggled with reading to be able to take me home with them, read along, and break down the book as if we were in class.

Creative Writing

In Class and Saturday Writing Workshops​

Creative writing is my passion. I wanted my students to find their voice and love for writing as well. I decided to have fun with it. I recreated our classroom to mimic a campsite and we created scary stories and visuals to build descriptions.

What do you see?

One of the things I enjoy the most about reading is the mental pictures I get when I read. Having a visual helps the students understand imagery, the authors vision for their words, and sequencing . The students received photos of characters and events from the book. Each student would make predictions for the chapter and write down imagery and events that match the picture provided. It was fun and really helped the students understand the story.
